Web Design & Development

In classical terms, design describes the visual appearance of a website. Traditional approach involves contrast, coloring, balance, emphasis, rhythm, style of graphical elements (lines, shapes, texture, color and direction), use of icons, background textures and general atmosphere of overall website design. All these elements are combined with the fundamental principles of design in order to create a superb result that meets the goals set for the website.

  • Planning, creation and updating of websites.
  • Information architecture, website structure & user interface
  • Navigation ergonomics, website layout
  • HTML5 & CSS
  • jQuery Library

Web Design vs. Web Development In A Nutshell:

Web developers, sometimes called programmers, take the design created by Web Designers and build a fully functioning website. To put it simply, think of the design as a non-interactive “picture” of a website.
Developers take that design and break it up into it’s components. They then either use just HTML or a more dynamic approach incorporating programming languages such as PHP to develop the various website pages. More advanced web developers may choose to utilize a Content Management System (CMS) like WordPress in order to streamline development and allow clients an easy way to maintain and update their website.
Web developers may convert a static layout designed by Web Designers into a dynamic website by using image and content sliders, active states for links and buttons, and other interactive elements. In essence, Web Design refers to both the aesthetic portion of the website and it’s usability.
Web Designers use various design programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver or After Effects to create the layout and other visual elements of the website.
Ask yourself what you want your website to do? Whether it's to allow people to do business with you, find you online or to sell a product.
Let Raquelia with DDinDesign help you achieve these goals and more.

Branding & Identity

Branding vs. Identity: what’s the difference? If you aren’t an expert on design industry buzzwords, you might have wondered what the difference is between branding and identity. Even some designers are confused by these terms. While both are similar, one is a subset of the other.

  • Branding is about creating a customer experience.
  • Identity is about visuals and packaging.

So, what is branding? Branding is the process of developing a perception about your business and/or a customer experience that includes design as part of the process, but is also driven by elements such as naming, marketing strategy, advertising, public relations, market research, customer feedback and more. Identity is an important piece of the branding puzzle for most businesses and helps to enable customer response. Think, "Coca- Cola," "Panera," "Nike," "Trump," "Twitter," "You-Tube."

Basically you want to have an Identity (logo) that is maintained throughout your entire website which is then associated with your "Brand."(Business Website)

At DDinDesign, we help you with the visual aspects of branding through the design of identity packages for small businesses. The most common pieces of an identity package for small businesses are a logo, business stationery, and a web site. However, since all client needs are different, full identity packages often include other types of business collateral such as brochures, newsletters, product packaging, signs and other materials. If you need just this service then feel free to contact Raquelia with DDinDesign.

Graphic Design

Graphic design, also known as communication design, is the art and practice of planning and projecting ideas and experiences with visual and textual content. The form of the communication can be physical or virtual, and may include images, words, video or graphic forms. Designers are also responsible for interactive designs where the content is fluid, sometimes changing minute to minute, as well as interfaces that help users navigate through complex digital experiences.

Design Principles

  • Balance – It’s important for web designers to create a balanced layout.
  • Contrast – In color theory, contrasting colors are ones placed opposite one another on the color wheel.
  • Emphasis – A design principle founded in the intentional “highlighting” of certain important elements of the website layout.
  • Consistency – Also called repetition or rhythm, consistency is a critical web design principle.
  • Unity – Is the relationship between the various parts of the website layout and the composition as a whole.

Graphic Design along with Web Design are my passions and will look forward to hearing from you about your next website or web design project that you want to have developed with someone who is also a small business doing freelance work in Port ST Lucie, South Florida, USA. What is the difference between ux and ui design?

04.

UX & UI Design

UX Design refers to the term User Experience Design, while UI Design stands for User Interface Design. Both elements are crucial to a product and work closely together. But despite their professional relationship, the roles themselves are quite different, referring to very different parts of the process and the design discipline. Where UX Design is a more analytical and technical field, UI Design is closer to what we refer to as graphic design, though the responsibilities are somewhat more complex.

User Experience Design

  • User Experience Design is the process of quality interaction between a user and all facets of a company. Strategy and Content.
  • User Experience Design is responsible for being hands on with the process of research, testing, development, content, and prototyping to test for quality results or Wireframing and Prototyping.

User Interface Design

  • User Interface Design is taking your Brand/Identity plus all graphic assets and laying it all out in a website interface that will best enhance the user’s experience.
  • User Interface Design is a process of visually guiding the user through a product’s interface via interactive elements and across all sizes/platforms.

“Something that looks great but is difficult to use is exemplary of great UI and poor UX. While something very usable that looks terrible is exemplary of great UX and poor UI.”

So as you can see both UI and UX Design are needed when designing your site and she has an Associate's Degree in Web Design & New Media that covers both of these aspects thereby making Raquelia from DDinDesign a perfect match for your needs.
